Implementing this project, we mean to : -improve our students’ professional, linguistic and cultural skills - increasing their European awareness and their will to develop their career mobility - making local, national and international employability easier - developing their autonomy and self-esteem In the long run, we mean to: - reinvigorate the pedagogical practices and improve the skills of the teaching team by adopting an internationalisation policy - promoting mobilities to all our mindful and motivated students whatever their vocational section to strengthen the image of our Vocational High School and have it shine at a regional level offering an attractive and unique training that includes the notion of European citizenship.
Jean Vigo High School is situated in Millau: a rural town of about 22 000 inhabitants. Lots of families are located next to the school but some are in distant country villages. A few students come from the north of the department or from neighbouring ones. In any case, our students are not very used to mobility due to their modest family backgrounds. Jean Vigo High School has been integrated the European dimension for about 20 years in its school project with numerous mobilities abroad organised. We have submitted 9 candidatures that have been validated since 2004 and thanks to them about one hundred students have been able to benefit from a work placement abroad (England, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Malta).
