Objectives

The JB Decrétot high school had set itself the following objectives: - To give meaning to learning by developing linguistic skills related to teaching, both written and oral, by developing motivation and curiosity, - Encourage cultural discovery through visits or stays abroad, - Putting geographical and intellectual mobility into perspective by encouraging internships abroad, - Develop pathways to excellence by improving language skills through extracurricular exercises combining the pleasure of learning and the discovery of the language, - Encourage the qualification of students through access to language certification. To further strengthen the international dimension of the JB Decrétot high school, the following actions were envisaged: - Extension of the internship abroad to the trade sector and continuation in the hotel and catering sector and for the Administration Management Baccalaureate, - Professional trips abroad for staff to generate motivation and to set up new educational experiments.

Background

The international aspect of the school project of the JB Decrétot high school, a high school for hotel, restaurant, and service professions, constitutes a priority pedagogical axis. Several strategic elements have been identified: - The first point is to offer a broad, diversified, and high-quality curriculum, based, in particular, on cultural, linguistic and professional openness, - The second point is to establish language skills to promote the fluidity of the vocational baccalaureate/higher education pathway (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur), - The third point is to match the professional needs and qualities of learners to meet the market needs and employability (English is a major asset on the labor market), - The last point is to create a dynamic around international openness within the school classes and the entire educational community. Axis 3 of the JB Decretot high school project “Opening up to the world” perpetuates a long tradition of openness to Europe and the world that this Erasmus+ EFP project makes possible by financing mobilities.
