Objectives

The main objective of the CAPMOB 2.1 project was to promote the mobility of vocational learners enrolled in various public schools in Paris. These European experiences were aimed at a public that is often far from mobility, and aimed to jointly develop the professional and technical skills as well as the soft skills necessary to integrate a constantly evolving labour market. The consortium proposed a European vocational pathway for vocational students in order to prepare them for the real needs of companies in different sectors, and to enhance their curriculum. By bringing together institutions with little experience, or even novices, in European projects, this project also aimed to contribute to the internationalisation of the institutions in the consortium and to develop the skills of the teams in setting up and managing projects. The particular structure of this consortium, built as an incubator for the development of mobility, allowed all the staff involved in the projects to gain skills and to establish a culture of mobility and European openness in the schools.

Background

The academy and the GIP-FCIP of Paris are coordinating this consortium, the main aim of which is to offer vocational training students the opportunity to spend their training period in a professional environment abroad. The focus is on those students who are furthest from mobility opportunities. This initiative aims to strengthen access to employability and to give young people the skills required to succeed in these constantly changing sectors. This project, built as a mobility incubator, targets several professional sectors, ranging from tertiary to industrial, for schools new to European projects. By carrying out this project, the Paris Academy wishes to contribute to the reform of the vocational route and to offer young people a rewarding experience of mobility and development of their skills and learning achievements. A professional experience abroad is indeed a valuable training tool for these young people and allows them to develop their expertise, discover different cultures and keep abreast of current trends in their field.
