This project is in line with the priorities of the academic project of the regional education authority “Académie de Toulouse” (2019-2022). It allows the school to «prepare students for their future», while promoting «the involvement of students as citizens» and strengthening «the mastery of modern languages». It is also perfectly in line with the school project promoting international openness. The objectives pursued regarding learners have been coherent and ambitious: to promote the attractiveness of the sectors thanks to mobility, to give meaning to the learning of modern languages, to develop professional adaptability (a source of employability), to fight against school dropout through mobility (a source of motivation and ambition), to fight against socio-economic and cultural determinisms and finally enhance the self-image through cultural and civic openness. Staff members were fully involved in this dynamic which had specific objectives: to unite the teams around a common project, to exchange on professional practices, to establish lasting cooperation, to develop professional skills, to improve the learning of foreign languages.
Since 2018 and the first “Groove” project, Clément de Pémille vocational high school, located in GRAULHET in the Occitania region, has been involved in a structuring project with the stated objective of making mobility a tool for cultural openness and professional excellence. The high school, located in a rural area in development and in a priority district for urban policy, welcomes pupils from very modest social backgrounds, but also pupils with special needs or disabilities. In order to promote academic ambition often hampered by an unfavourable local and socio-economic context, the school has chosen to rely on the dynamism of the teaching and educational teams in place and on the added value of its rich and varied vocational courses (jewellery, mechanics, commerce and sales representation ). Thus, through this project, the school wanted to give each candidate the opportunity to broaden his/her geographical, cultural and professional horizons, by giving everyone an equal chance (equality between girls and boys, underage and over the age students, inclusion of learners with fewer opportunities…). It also gives meaning to European citizenship while promoting the employability of learners.
