Objectives

Around the main themes addressed in this project: Cooperation between educational institutions and companies, teaching and learning foreign languages and issues related to the labor market incl. professional orientation/unemployment of young people, we wanted to achieve the objectives we set for ourselves in this project: * to fight against the professional immobility of our students by increasing the number of professional mobilities, * to give meaning to and improve the learning of modern languages, * to open up culturally in order to become a European citizen. In the logic of a continuity of European opening of the establishment, this project also allowed : - the teaching teams to engage in other projects associated with this dynamic of cultural openness: realization of eTwinning projects, participation of the school in the Erasmus Days and organization of stays in Europe in a pedagogical framework. - to the management team to submit a file to obtain the Euroscol label (obtained at the beginning of the 2022 school year) and to start a pairing with 3 schools located in the city of Arnedo in Spain (twinned city with the city of Parthenay).

Background

For the record: This project of learner mobility for vocational training purposes is relevant in view of the social origin of our students (55% from disadvantaged backgrounds, 37% scholarship holders). These are young people who are not very mobile on the territory, even if only on the scale of the department. Moreover, this project is part of a continuity concerning the implementation of European mobility for several years with the assistance of Erasmus + since 2018. It allows the school to be part of a dynamic of international openness recognized on the academic level. Once our students have graduated, the lack of mobility remains significant with regard to the social origin of our students, and professional integration remains local, departmental or regional. Moreover, at the end of their training, many students still have a poor command of English and Spanish (CEFR: level A1/A2, barely B1 for most). It is the responsibility of the lycée to address this problem by proposing intellectual solutions (involvement of students in eTwinning projects and Erasmus Days) and material solutions (mobility abroad). Staff mobility is not the ultimate goal of the project, but it is necessary for the validation of the internship period with regard to the professional competency framework. This project encourages the staff (chaperones) of the high school to follow the students by going to the host countries to evaluate the students, meet the representatives of the intermediary organizations as well as the partner companies in order to establish links. The staff concerned are involved in the steering committee associated with the various European projects. Activities related to European openness are a priority and are part of the school's project and therefore of the school's overall policy. They allow the school to be more visible and involve working with various actors. The European funds and tools allow the school to support its international opening.
