Objectives

For many years, Bougainville High School's objective has been to strengthen everyone's skills (students and staff) to enable them to find their place in an economic environment that is increasingly open to Europe and the world. Cultural and European openness and the desire to facilitate training periods abroad are included in the school plan. This dynamic of success, equality and professional integration aims to: - to offer training that is increasingly in line with the new expectations of the French and European labor market, making it possible to gain in employability and adaptability in a changing context; - to strengthen the systems for teaching professional disciplines in language (English/Spanish) based on European programs. For this, the school develops and associates as much as possible with all European projects / programs. Two European sections in English for Bac pro commerce/sales/reception and cooking/marketing and room service have been open since the start of the 2010 academic year.

Background

The Bougainville vocational school is a public establishment located in an urban environment of the Nantes conurbation which recruits throughout the Pays de la Loire region. It provides training from CAP to vocational bac in the areas of catering, customer relations and upholstery. Its eccentric geographical position and far from the borders could put it aside from international trade, but this is not the case because the region benefits from an "economic" ocean entry and a strong tourist frequentation. The majority of students come from disadvantaged CSP (50 to 60%). They encounter difficulties in general education subjects, especially in languages. They have never had the opportunity to work abroad and a very small number have left French borders.
