Objectives

The objectives were to promote the school's international outlook and to engage learners so that they feel more like European citizens. These trips were also intended to enable the beneficiaries to develop their language skills in the subjects taught at the lycée des métiers. In the vocational and digital fields, they worked on the competences listed in the training referentials by developing an ePortfolio. They were thus able to enrich their curriculum vitae and enhance their profile on the job market or in their application for further study. Thanks to this project, each learner was awarded an official European title: Europass; and a national title highlighting mobility via an option in the vocational baccalaureate. The latter is awarded by the Rector and symbolically presented with the vocational baccalaureate diploma.

Background

We applied for this project because it was the only way that students from our vocational high school and the Marcel Pagnol Ufa (Apprenticeship Training Unit) could benefit from the same opportunities for work placements abroad. The public concerned is made up of vocational high school students and apprentices all preparing for the same tertiary diplomas: commerce, sales, services and administrative management. The beneficiaries are young teenagers aged between 16 and 22, from disadvantaged backgrounds (resources, geographical location). They have all exposed their motivation to discover and consider European social values while defending their ambition to acquire the professional skills expected by the diploma and to integrate professional life. Our school aims to provide the best possible support to its students by facilitating their social and professional integration. These professional mobility projects in Europe are for us a key element in the achievement of our socio-educational objectives and fully meet our school project.
