Objectives

The general objectives of the project were as follows - to promote the deployment of the Erasmus+ programme throughout Reunion, for the benefit of the young public, followed by the Missions Locales of the island, by making the professionals who accompany this public live the Erasmus+ experience. - to set up competent teams to serve these international projects, both linguistically and organizationally, by training them in Erasmus+-related tools before their own mobilities. - to enable our professionals to acquire and integrate new tools, methods or organizational modes to improve their practices in supporting the public, during original training periods abroad in social field.

Background

Reunion, an ultra-peripheral region of Europe 10,000 km from the European continent, presents a very specific situation with alarming statistics in terms of unemployment rates. Geographical isolation requires young people in Reunion to be mobile. The island's Missions Locales are active in the social and professional integration of young people, and are working to open up the field of possibilities for its public, young people under 25 years of age who have left the school system and are looking for integration. Too many young people in Reunion leave the school system without any qualifications and this shows us the importance of innovating by proposing training solutions based on non-formal education, learning by doing, action and experience. But mobility, which given the remoteness, requires both means and the removal of fears linked to the unknown and the distance, is not easy to envisage from our ultra-peripheral region. The aim of this project was to improve the knowledge and skills of the staff through a training experience abroad, in order to make them real multipliers of the Erasmus+ programme for the young people followed in the " Missions Locales" of Reunion Island.
