Objectives

Through the implementation of our project we wanted to make our students, more comfortable, in oral expression in foreign languages ,more self-confident and that they get new professional skills. This mobility also allows the learners who have never travelled to discover a new culture, to acquire autonomy in their daily life and in their professional field. Moreover the participants acquired useful skills to their future integration into the labour market: adaptability to a foreign socio-professional background that is an expected and important discovery for the European professionals, development of autonomy, self-esteem, ability to take initiatives and to become more responsible. We wanted to develop the upgrading of the linguistic rights linked to the students 'mobilities. Some assessments have been made before and after their mobilities in order to establish their Europass and to prepare them efficiently to their mobility test. Thanks to this project we wanted to get an added value for our students and the teachers of our vocational school consolidating the European dynamics already well established in our school.

Background

As in our previous projects we applied for this project to allow some learners who have less opportunities to do a professional mobility abroad. Some of those learners have never been abroad before. Our project was a real added value for some students who are less likely to experience a mobilty in a foreign country. Our project gave the opportunity to 32 students from second year of BTEC National to live a mobility in four different countries in five directions. Our school achieves in maintaining an important flow of registrations in first year of BTEC National and the request to do a mobility abroad is constantly increasing in tertiary fields as in industrial fields. The earlier we inform our students the more they feel able to live the Erasmus+ experience in second year of BTEC National and to repeat that experience once more when they are in further education. During the presentation of our different fields of education in the surrounding secondary schools, in the guidance forums, and during our school open days, the future students and their families are used to asking us questions about the sustainability of the organisation of mobilities in the schooling in our vocational school.
