The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is disparate, both in terms of demography, urbanization and employment, which implies specific needs. The second important element is that the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region trains more young graduates than it has jobs to offer. This point is at the heart of FCIL-AQUITAPRO: ensuring that our learners stand out from the competition and can easily integrate an ever more competitive and ever more demanding job market. Since its creation, our training has thus maintained the same objectives: to promote the employability of young people or their pursuit of studies; strengthen language skills and develop European citizenship. We seek to meet a need to acquire professional skills to improve the employability of young people, and a need to improve their language skills to develop their personal skills and be better prepared to act and evolve in an open world: more skills, more experience and more adaptability. Our goal is to transform pupils who are often very academic into adults capable of assuming their responsibilities.
The Lycée Gustave Eiffel wishes to generalize mobility and offer this opportunity to an ever wider public, by directing its efforts more particularly towards professional training, so that all of our learners benefit from the unique advantages that this experience brings, in terms of learning about the international dimension of the labor market or acquiring know-how and interpersonal skills. Making Europe a place of learning and belonging for our learners stimulates each of the projects that our school implements; the objective being to give meaning to their professional and personal journey. The FCIL-AQUITAPRO falls within this objective by offering the possibility of doing a long-term internship in a European company, because we believe that long-term mobility provides essential skills for integration, transforms young people in the long term and has a positive impact on their journey. We therefore created this training in 2014 and, each year, we renew our application in order to perpetuate the system, to promote professional integration through long mobility which is only possible for our learners thanks to the funding provided by Erasmus.
