For Pôle emploi, as a public employment service, the ultimate objective of the Erasmus+ programme is to get the participating jobseekers back into employment: this professional experience abroad in Europe offers them first of all an increase in skills in their professional field and at the same time enables them to become active again - in employment, in training, in entrepreneurship. Within the framework of our international service offer, we would like to provide more support to people who are furthest from employment in order to increase their employability. From a quantitative point of view, we want to expand our international service offer in order to offer this mobility to a constantly increasing number of job seekers. Another central objective is the promotion of European values, European citizenship and professional mobility within the European Union.
For many years, Pôle emploi, the French public employment service, has been implementing a range of services dedicated to international mobility, which aims to support jobseekers in their projects, improve their employability and their subsequent return to sustainable employment. The Erasmus+ programme, supported by Pôle emploi since 2014, is perfectly in line with these objectives and enables several hundred jobseekers per year to benefit from a work placement abroad. We have seen a considerable increase in the rate of return to employment for our participants following this professional experience. In addition to the Charter obtained in 2017, Pôle emploi has also obtained the Erasmus+ accreditation in 2021, which will allow us to plan for the continuity of mobility projects for the coming years.
