Objectives

Vocational training is THE lever for employability. In a region where the unemployment rate remains higher than the average, international openness represents a lever important for: 1) make learners want to invest in their training by giving meaning to this training and by arousing pride in having chosen the professional voice, 2) to open the horizons of young people and make them discover something else: another culture, another professional culture, another environment, other professional practices and to enrich not only their professional career but also their personal culture, 3) to engage the learner on the path of higher education and on the path of excellence. Similarly, a large majority of young people are not very mobile. Encouraging them to go "far away", to appreciate the experience and to make them understand that they are capable of it could, subsequently, decide them to accept a job far from home and could thus increase their mobility, in terms of national this time. For the personnel of the Pro high schools, it is also a question of opening up the field of possibilities, giving a second wind and improving the overall social climate of the VET provider.

Background

The participants in the mobility are students in vocational baccalaureate, they are between 15 and 18 years old. The learners, mostly pupils, grew up in families with an average or disadvantaged social, professional and cultural background. They are not used to traveling, neither in France nor abroad. Training mobility in Europe as part of the training course is a lever for training and the pursuit of studies and success in BTS (short higher education). We have applied for this charter project to anchor mobility in the practices of professional establishments wishing to continue their international openness and to give them a visible and concrete tool. We applied for this project to promote vocational education and training and improve the social integration of young people. Our objective is to aim for excellence in vocational training and to make young people understand that they too have a bright future if they can highlight the transversal skills acquired during professional mobility in a company in a European country. .
