We have many objectives. We aim to: - Combat drop-out rates and reduce significantly underperformance - Encourage the continuation of studies at level III (post-Bac): specialised BTS, DN Made, university - Support job hunting by enriching the students’ CV (uploading of European CV and Europass) and by broadening the range of possibilities - Arouse in everyone a genuine European understanding, through total immersion in an EU country - Create awareness of diversity, a source of both human and cultural wealth - Inculcate respect for others and tolerance, and through that to fight against discrimination of every kind - Develop the self-sufficiency of young people, by removing them from their reference points - Fight against the isolation of our future craftspeople by stimulating the exchange of skills between teachers, pupils and professionals, both regional and European - Improve language skills, when needed These are ambitious aims: implementation of each project brings us much closer to achieving them. Feedback from the participants’ reports confirms a good fit between our initial aims and the results obtained.
The Erasmus+ programme is now firmly anchored in our establishment’s policies and plans. Indeed, since 2011, we have offered to our students the possibility of pursuing their ‘Training period in a professional environment’ (PFMP) in a European country and to adults the possibility of spending time with their peers. We successfully carried out two Leonardo programmes (2011, 213) and three Erasmus+ programmes (2014, 2016, 2018). In 2019, following Brexit, we began exchanges with Ireland and Poland. The team worked hard to obtain the Erasmus Charter in 2019, and then Accreditation (2023 - 2027). To date, 131 student and 13 adult exchanges have taken place. Each project has enriched the young people both personally and professionally and prepared them to become mobile, responsible and self-sufficient European citizens. These broadening exchanges have positively affected both the school and our various partners, who show themselves to be more interested each time. It is, therefore, only natural that, after the enforced break because of the health crisis, we are setting off again on a new adventure.
