Through the implementation of this project, we seek to develop the adaptation capacities of our pupils, their linguistic skills in English and their openness to European citizenship. Our final year students are often still minors and few of them have already gone abroad. This mobility increases their autonomy, their ability to look after themselves (in the host family as well as during their internship) and proves to them how much a professional attitude in all circumstances is appreciated. As we have been renewing this mobility from year to year since 2013, we ask former participants to come and share their experience with their peers. As soon as students enter in the first year of their three-year training, the class teacher present the Erasmus+ program during meetings with parents. In the second year of their three-year training, in October, we try to question the students to find out how many of them would like to go on mobility the following year. Then we identify them and select them according to their determination and responsiveness to the programme.
Encouraged by the success of our previous vocational training mobility projects and having been awarded the Erasmus + Charter for mobility in vocational education and training (code: 2016-1-FR01-KA109-024332) in September 2016, we wanted to continue to make our Bac Pro students benefit from this mobility programme. The first two projects in 2013 and 2014 only concerned students studying in the field of Laboratory Quality Control because the English language is essential for them since all scientific publications as well as laboratory devices' instructions are written in English. In 2015 and 2016, we included in the Erasmus project students in the field of Food Sales and since 2018, students involved in Services to People. Thus any learner registered in our Bac Pro courses can apply as a would-be candidate. Even if the results of each project differ according to the participant' investment and the benefits that it brings to him, we believe that this adventure is enriching for them because they are in total immersion in a work environment different from the one they know in France.
