Project summary

Final report summary

Based on the school's two labels, namely Euroscol and Génération 2024, the idea of an Erasmus+ project combining these two labels imposed itself on us. Indeed, the school tries to open its students to the surrounding world by seeking to take them out of their daily environment where they tend to become sedentary. The discovery of the other also within the framework of the school but outside the borders is a driving force for the school's policy which has already participated in numerous etwining projects or various correspondences (France, Canada, USA and England) . Sport is a universal vector on which we have been able to rely, especially since the school has a USEP association affiliated with USEP 76 which will be our financial support and partner. Thus the activities offered to students in the HMBE (Healthy Mind Body and Environment) project will be oriented around several axes: health, mind, body and the environment. This environmental part seemed to us to be an inseparable part of this project and of all teaching because it enters, like the other axes, into the education and construction of the individual and the citizen and is one of the major elements of today's world. today. Meeting others, both in their differences and in their similarities, also guided the choice of partner schools. Indeed, the schools come from various European countries (Croatia, Greece, Latvia) and bring together varied audiences and different operations. Thus, the French school is a small school (120 students and 6 classes) located in a medium-sized town in the REP zone in Normandy. The Jumpravas school in Latvia is a large structure with around a hundred students. The Glina school in Croatia has 200 students and the Loutraki Pella school has around a hundred. The project initially included a school on the island of Majorca in Spain but due to covid and the personal situation of colleagues, the Spanish partners preferred to withdraw from the project at the start of the 2020 school year. The project was therefore able to rely largely on this diversity of places, structures and modes of operation to present various situations to students, teachers and families. The project was also able to draw on Greek and French colleagues who had previously worked together on an etwinning project on traditional sports in Europe and on the knowledge of Erasmus projects from the Croatian and Latvian partners. Due to Covid, the project was able to be extended for one year, allowing all the mobility planned in the program to be carried out. The order of mobilities as well as the organization of mobilities (due to the departure of Spanish colleagues) had to be modified but this allowed us to experience two mobilities in Croatia first and foremost, thus allowing the partners for whom it was the first Erasmus to see how this could be organized. As mobilities in Spain were canceled and savings were made on mobilities, it was thus possible to involve more students in mobilities within the limits of the reception capacities of each country, even if they were obliged to book hotels instead of the family welcome initially planned in the application. The first year impacted by covid but also by an earthquake among our Croatian partners required adaptations. Various activities were carried out via video such as Tabata sessions, activities on food during the ErasmusDays, a relay orienteering race, quizzes on the environment, contacts with high-level athletes within the framework of Olympic days, exchanges to get to know each other better or exchange wishes or songs... Others were carried out via the twinspace (mathematics challenge, races, Let's Clean Up Nature, school presentation videos, creation of the project logo, exchange healthy recipes, playground games and active breaks, etc.). The discussions were very enriching and allowed the students to discover other approaches and new concepts. The objectives of the project at the student level (Opening students to the outside world, Enriching their minds and taking care of their bodies, Acquiring knowledge about the countries around us but also about all the themes addressed by the project, giving meaning to the learning in a process of communication, exchange of skills, promoting students who will have to present their work and their experience to the class group but also at school and therefore encouraging listening to others) have been achieved. The students found themselves in a real process of communication, listening and investment which made it possible to improve and even reveal certain skills. For teachers, this project was very enriching and allowed them to encounter new practices and new educational tools. Families oalso contributed to the success of the project through their involvement and support for their children. Some also saw in this project a real opportunity for their child, both personally and for their school career.
