« SPIRIT IN VALUES » is a European mobility project. Partner organizations and participants are working together on a major issue of our news: the exponential impact of information and communication technologies, which causes critical thinking to be lost and endangers respect for our fundamental rights. Because the promotion of values and principles based on fundamental human rights is essential to the development of an equitable information society, “SPIRIT IN VALUES” invites young people to take their place and play an active role in society by developing a critical spirit and in appropriating common fundamental values. The project consists of 2 meetings, with 40 young people of 4 nationalities, aged 18 to 22 years old, 8 accompanying group leaders (2 per country) and 4 facilitators (1 per participating organisation). The method based on the non-formal education process is based on the 8 key competencies and 3 complementary levels: - Acquisition of new knowledge; - Development of transversal skills such as problem solving, creative thinking, communication; - Adoption of cooperative and participatory attitudes. It is based on intercultural dialogue that fosters mutual understanding, develops a sense of unity. By sharing their cultures, their history, their way of life, they enrich themselves with their differences and give common meaning to their destiny. Participants are led to: - Get informed: want to know, develop their open-mindedness; - Understanding before judging: take an interest in what others think and know, accept debate and beware of prejudice; - Adopt a culture of tolerance and solidarity. Through an educational approach to the media, they are made aware of the behaviour of responsible citizens, who know how to discern information critically and creatively. The workshops establish a space for solidarity and reflection on a contemporary European problem. The Charter of Fundamental Rights is highlighted. Participants enrich each other by the diversity of their culture, their history and their experiences. They deepen and interpret together the values held by the European Union: democracy, freedom, equality, human rights, rule of law. The knowledge and skills acquired are concretized by achievements: a short film, a press article and the organization of an intercultural evening, open to the public. The objectives of “SPIRIT IN VALUES” are to: - Strengthen the participatory attitude and ability of young people, while exploring intercultural relations and new socio-political perspectives; - Promote intercultural dialogue through non-formal education for the well-being of young people, their future mobility and career prospects; - Strengthen the culture of tolerance, non-violence, peace through social participation; - Introduce the acquisition of new skills by participants who use and leverage them by sharing them; They learn to manage complex situations, to respond to certain challenges, to meet a challenge. They thus gain greater confidence in themselves; - Shedding light on the Charter of Fundamental Rights, a text that is too little known when it is the pillar of the most protective system in the world; - To stimulate the opening up of youth organisations and, more broadly, youth work in Europe, through capacity building in the field of mediation and communication. The two youth exchanges follow a similar methodology, based on the principles of non-formal learning and contribute to achieving these objectives in a participatory and creative way. The 4 participating organisations strengthen their partnership cooperation and pass it on to their respective networks. The project contributes to a positive and accessible image of the Erasmus+ programme The program logo appears on all communication materials of the project.
