Objectives

The exchange "Naturizing" gathered 41 young people from the partner countries in France. The objective of this project was to consider the following problematic issues: how to get water and food in the forest; forest behavior strategies; overnight device; bonfire methods; orientation on the ground; possible psychological reactions of a person caught in an extreme situation. According to the question of pollution of the Earth, the project taught young people what to do to save our world, the workshops "Zero waste" and "5R" were devoted to it. Non-formal education methods used on the project were based on the main principles of the Erasmus + to develop the key competencies of lifelong learning and also included the following: work with literary sources and Internet sources, surveillance included, workshops, games, role-plays, etc. We invited two camping instructors, who organized the implementation of the practical workshops, as well as the medical worker, to teach young people to do the first aid. The result of our exchange was the brochure "Naturizing", where the participants gathered powerful messages on the topic of environmental pollution prevention and demonstrate the basic tips about how to survive in wild nature. We made a lot of workshops open-air, practically oriented to give the participants the examples of how to behave themselves, to save control, do not panic, etc. The intercultural component of our exchange gave them the chance to broaden their horizons, develop thinking and improve skills. During the project, participants have learnt the importance of teamwork: - Organization; - Helping each other; - Distribution of roles; - Stay calm and positive; - Stay together; - Keep your energy, don’t waste it; - Be strong, care about the others. Have learnt what they can do - If you don't have any idea about the directions don't move and get lost, make a shelter, make a fire, find water, search for food. In addition, we paid the attention of the participants for environmental threats and useful resources; learnt them to do not panic; how to practice first aid; get ready for negative things, challenging and complicated situations; set goals and priorities for surviving in nature; be rational and practical. During the youth exchange, participants deal with cultural differences, dealing with different reactions coming from different cultures; tried to communicate in a common language; keeping all the team members active, avoiding leadership; accepting ideas or ideologies and respect to each other. Participating in our project young people have learned a lot, developed key competencies using the non-formal methods. The possibilities that Erasmus+ gave to them are incredible, and the opportunity for the mobility of the young people from our countries was a great opportunity and motivation for everyone involved. "Naturizing" youth exchange was to provide young people an opportunity to have a rich intercultural learning experience that significantly enhanced their environmental and nature awareness and knowledge to act upon.
