Objectives

We wish to encourage young people's access to employment by strengthening Youth workers' formation, in the continuation of the project “Better Together! A network for the employability of young people in Europe” we made last year. The purpose of the formation will still be to provide Youth workers with non-formal tools and methods allowing them to develop social, civic and creative abilities in young people that are essential to work. We still deem it necessary to promote volunteering, international mobility and entrepeneurship, and your intercultural DNA requires that we make young people value their multicultural and multilingual assets. Nevertheless, we will also approach topics that had not been covered last year, such as promoting mental and physical health of young people on the work place, tackling the inequalities of young people with disabilities or coming from rural areas in front of employment, as well as finding ways to professionaly integrate young refugees or asylum seekers in Europe. The idea is not only to help young people's employability but also to promote advocate tolerance and fight against any type of discrimination that people could encounter on their path to employment. To accomplish these goals, we wish to create an event that would last five days, dedicated to : – workshops and activities forming Youth workers to these subjects and teaching them non-formal tools and methods – building a common project that would have a local impact in terms of professional integration of young refugees and asylum workers in the Portuguese region the event will take place in. We also wish to strengthen and extend the Portuguese-speaking network of Youth workers born in 2019. This time, it will cover eight countries : France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.
