Objectives

For more than 50 years, the association Les Villages des Jeunes has participated in the establishment of lasting and concrete peace, both at local and European level, by promoting and cultivating openness to other cultures, as well as social diversity. . Starting from a common observation, crystallized by the increase in acts of a racist, xenophobic or anti-religious nature, the rise of populism, and the community withdrawal of multiple minorities, it appeared necessary for the association to create a project which would offer a positive and open framework for reflection to enable new generations to build the Europe of tomorrow, more united and strong in its differences. Through popular education, the association wishes to propose a new approach to enable participants, residents and local decision-makers to understand and think differently about the problem of discrimination. It is thus a question of questioning the historical and political origins of discrimination, in order to understand the place left to cultural, ethnic and religious minorities within today's society, in order to subsequently be able to invent a more serene and respectful of singularities. The participation of associations such as the "Vidéo bus" as well as the League of Human Rights, Amnesty International, Family Planning,... making it possible to provide real support both in form and in substance, in terms of to the production of short films. The latter, based on interviews and exchanges with residents and local elected officials, were also supplemented by numerous creative workshops (writing workshops, visual arts, video recordings, etc.). Workshops for collective reflection from non-formal education have made it possible to enrich the discussion as well as exchanges around the problem of the project. The Objectives were: 1/ Reflect, apprehend and debate collectively around the discriminatory issue to which people from cultural, sexual, ethnic and/or religious minorities may be subject. 2/ Raise participants' awareness of issues related to multiculturalism by meeting and accepting others and their differences with the aim of mutual respect and tolerance. 3/ Include young people in the participatory process by promoting active learning and using tools from non-formal education. 4/ Offer a space of freedom and exchange for young people from different socio-cultural backgrounds and nationalities. 5/ Sensitize the local fabric (inhabitants and political decision-makers) to issues of tolerance and acceptance of cultural and/or religious singularities. 6/ Educate participants in the use of media tools and journalistic work. 7/ Disseminate the results of the exchange and promote the actions of the Erasmus+ program This project had the following objectives:
