Objectives

This project was built in the continuity of the Franco-Palestinian seminar for young actors that we organized in Bages, Narbonne and Toulouse in 2018. It also materialized the contacts that we had made, the same year, with the village of Jimena de la Frontera in Andalusia, with the aim of extending to a new partner the cooperative relationship that we have had for several years with our Palestinian partner. Following this seminar and in consultation with young people from our three countries we imagined to organize in Jimena de la Frontera a ''youth exchange'' between our three villages and regions three villages and regions all concerned with the history of trans-Mediterranean exchanges. We knew that the border to which the name of this small town referred, was the one long disputed between the Christian kings and the caliphs of Al-Andalus. We also knew that Jimena kept a very vivid memory of violent episodes which took place there during the Spanish civil war of the years 36-39. Finally, the city is located on the edge of the Alcornocales natural park, the largest cork oak forest in Europe. The main discussion topics of the exchange were therefore: - The history of Al Andalous - The memory of the Spanish Civil War of the years 1936-1939 - The confrontation of these memories with the current situation of the young participants - The Alcornocales natural park We knew of course that our Spanish partner El Corral de la Paca was a circus school. Among the French participants, we mobilized two young animators / educators from our partner ABP who had particular skills in sound and video editing. Creative workshops were therefore planned: circus workshops and production of a video diary of the meeting. Through these activities, our goals were : 1. To work on the values of European construction and the challenges of environmental protection. This is the meaning of the title of the project “Tomorrow is a new day”. 2. To improve the professional integration capacities of each participant by enabling them to acquire certain technical, relational and organizational skills. To make them aware and to value their informal and non-formal learning. 3. To improve the self-confidence of the participants and the discovery of their own resources, thus promoting their capacity for social integration, their citizen investment and their capacity for projections into the future. 4. To encourage the international mobility of participants and participating organizations.
