Objectives

Our organisations are used to work since many years for and with young people. Through all our partnerships and artistic activities, we give them responsibilities and the power to express themselves. TeeNEXTers is a project which includes a long process of involvement for many years. We have organized meetings and discussions with young people and leaders from different countries and approaches. That was successful, rich and joyful. This time we wanted to go further with new partnerships. We aimed to give skills for young people in a journalistic approach that will be the way to disseminate in a larger way expressions and analysis of artistic works of the European better artists. The Next Festival is a huge European festival, which gathers several cultural partners and invites lots of innovative artists and always surprising artistic performances. The aim was finally to create a large network bringing together youth workers, journalists, youth organisations, medias organisations and young people interested in sharing experiences, analyses, emotions around works of arts. With this project, we aimed to: - gather young people from different countries and backgrounds in a convivial way to develop solidarity and tolerance among them; - bring young people to attend innovative, striking, avant-garde performances, in order to develop their curiosity and open- mindedness; - stir personal and collective reflection up, to help young people to build analytical minds and there-fore, encourage pluralism and prevent one-track thinking ; - create original, stimulating and safe environments to encourage expression of critical viewpoints, debates and argumentation and to enrich each other's ideas through dialogue; - discuss about their feelings, ideas and expectations, so they could develop an understanding of each other's approach and culture when they share their experiences; - help young people to develop technical skills about medias, that will be useful to them in their personal, academic and then professional life; - understand some values and principles about journalism: freedom of expression, precision of facts, how to make an issue understandable by the audience; - stimulate their curiosity towards medias and raise awareness about their role in our societies; - use group-work methods, give young people responsibilities, to develop skills such as problem-solving, commitment, completion etc., which enhance individuals' entrepreneurial abilities and em-ployability; - enhance the participants' foreign languages competences; - strengthen young people understanding of the European culture and develop a sense of Europe-an citizenship; - work with leaders from different organisations and countries on a collaborative basis, reinforce a network of cultural actors working for youth and promote European cooperation in the youth field ; - disseminate the results of our experiences and share our tools with cultural, educational and so-cial institutions in Europe in order to promote critical thinking ; - advocate the idea that artistic expression can be used by/with young people in order to express opinions and feelings and therefore be an actor of social and political change in Europe.
