The objective of the project was to address the issue of discrimination by providing a space for young people to come in contact with youngsters from other countries and cultures, which would enable them to develop a better understanding and acceptance of diversity. The main activity of the Youth Exchange was to host one youth mobility event in Bernay-en-Ponthieu (France) which gathered 39 participants from 7 partner countries (France, Turkey, Slovakia, Italy, Spain, Estonia, The Republic of North Macedonia) from diverse backgrounds. The project aimed to raise awareness among young people on the potential of art and cultural traditions as a means for inclusion and self-expression, to facilitate opportunities for networking and partnerships between young people, youth workers, and organizations in partner countries, to promote mutual understanding, solidarity and tolerance between young people from different cultural contexts and backgrounds through working in a multicultural environment and create the atmosphere to share cultures and artistic expressions, to promote active citizenship of young people in their society, and to promote opportunities for young people in Erasmus+ program and non-formal education and hence motivate young people to take part in the projects in future. The activities of the Youth Exchange were based on non-formal education (learning by doing), through which the participants had the opportunity to understand different cultures and fight against prejudices. To add to the inter-cultural dimension participants were also in shared accommodation and meal times that helped to promote and cement inter-cultural discussion on a range of topics. Moreover, the participants prepared a cultural event for the local community, which enabled sharing of the idea of tolerance of cultural diversity on a local level with the wider community. The outcomes of the projects (videos, articles, works of art) were spread through the internet in order to share the idea on an international level.
