The objectives of our project were the following: - sensitize youth workers to the maker approach to education - equip youth workers with the necessary skills and mindset to deliver STEM activities The consortium participating in this initiative consists of organizations and institutions who are more or less active in the maker education and stem areas. We believe youth workers can prepare youth to the challenges of the 21st century, notably by adopting a maker approach to non formal education, which combines practical activities around STEAM and tech-related topics. We also believe that a maker approach to education is a much more powerful one that traditional approaches, one which enhances the overall learning experience. Hands-on activities help youth develop key skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, perseverance, communication, social responsibility.
