Objectives

NarrAction aimed at presenting the concept of pocket movie making and exploring the positive impact it can have when used as a method of working with youth at risk of social exclusion. Pocket movie making is based on the assumption that every person has a unique story to be told and shared with the others. It is a modern extension of the art of storytelling that has been an important part of social interactions since the very birth of humanity. However, in the modern world where we people are constantly exposed to the flood of information, we tend to forget how reflecting on personal experiences and sharing them with others can be beneficial for one's personal development. Pocket movie making is a concept that combines two crucial aspects - the power of creating personal narratives and our modern need to "go digital", giving people a chance to tell their stories in creative ways that involve using their digital skills. The project has been designed in accordance with general objectives of the Erasmus+ and met most of the objectives of learning mobilities. Partners have outlined the following objectives: - support the professional development of youth workers and improve the quality of youth work across Europe through innovation. In order to reach this objective we will introduce youth workers with pocket movie making methodologies to reach out to marginalised young people, give them means of self-expression, exploration, acceptance as a way to prevent violent radicalisation, therefore promoting intercultural dialogue, diversity, tolerance, respect and inclusion. - facilitate personal development of the participants and their target groups. Participants will experience pocket movie making exercises and express their personal stories. pocket movie making workshops enhance media literacy, give people a voice that enables them to communicate in a new way with mixed media. Participants will have a chance to experience these benefits for their own development and learn how to provide similar experience to marginalised young people they work with. - increase the capacities and international dimension of the partners and enable them to offer services that better respond to the needs of their target groups. pocket movie making activities help people express themselves and can contribute many benefits in organisational setting. Storytelling and digital tools are used world-wide to help communicate brand messages and market products and services. Professional use of pocket movie making helps to present organizations better which might result in more public support for their activities. Participants will also bring back to their organizations new ideas and tools that can be used to develop innovative activities and reach new target groups or improve existing programs.
