Objectives

In setting up this youth exchange, we wanted to offer a space for discussion, exchange and awareness-raising on issues related to environmental protection, eco-citizenship and gender equality. It was therefore essential to get the participants to question themselves on these subjects, and to make them actors in the dissemination of eco-responsible practices and equality. We wanted to make participants aware of these responsible habits and relied on the different thematic activities to do so, and gave space to participants to propose their own activities around these two topics, which created a lively exchange of ideas. We also wanted to highlight the fact that an intercultural dimension must be taken into account in the issue of environmental protection and gender equality. Through the exchange activities and pedagogical workshops, the participants were able to reflect from an intercultural point of view on how to deal with the issue of environmental protection and gender equality. We also wanted to create a dialogue between the participants and the local population that would enrich the participants' questioning of the issues and have an impact at the local level. We prepared this project with the aim of making the participants question our lifestyles and consumption and make them aware that this has an impact on the environment, on health and on a certain social model. Furthermore, we aimed to build with the participants an awareness of responsible and supportive citizens, especially at a European level, and to engage them to act concretely as such. By engaging them, we wanted them to become a driving force in raising awareness among others. And finally, we wanted to accompany the participants' awareness by encouraging intercultural exchange and the acquisition of knowledge and behaviour that would promote eco-citizenship and gender equality.
