The PLANet B consortium aimed to provide a comprehensive range of climate-change-focused Digital Breakouts to inspire young people to find meaningful solutions to the climate change challenge and to convey the right knowledge through the Internet to the younger generation so they could play a considerable role in the climate change fight. To achieve it, the project strived to equip front-line youth workers with the necessary tools to deliver the PLANet B climate change education program and develop their Digital Breakout Challenges (DBCs). The PLANet B project aimed to develop an in-service training program for front-line youth professionals to enable them to integrate the new Digital Breakouts resources into their everyday educational activities. Placing a significant focus on challenge-based education, team-based learning, and the use of online resources, the partners aimed to encourage young people to think positively about what they could do as individuals and as a group to help mitigate the impact of climate change. The following concrete outputs were developed by the project consortium (non-exhaustive list) which are all free and available for all users on the PLANet B website (https://planetbproject.eu/en/) via any device: • In-service training program package which includes 1 handbook, 3 training modules, Glossary, 1 learning outcomes matrix, the outlines for six thematic video lectures and translated into 5 languages • 30 Digital Breakout Challenges on climate change issues translated into 5 languages • Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform comprising all DBCs and learning and teaching resources, as well as Open Badges system which allows the users to receive recognition and motivates them to complete all the 30 DBCs

Profoundly concerned by the environmental degradation of our planet, the PLANet B consortium saw the need to support today's digital natives to think critically about the climate change issue, by using a challenge-based learning approach, so they can play a considerable role in spreading the informed climate action message. The PLANet B partners, namely E-Juniors (EJU), The Rural Hub (TRH), Rightchallenge (RC), Centre for the advancement of research and development in educational technology (CARDET) and Harlequin Educational Technology (HET), subsequently replaced by Quarter Mediation (QMED), applied for a project with an ambition to empower younger generations with the knowledge and the appropriate digital tools which would permit them to think critically about this issue and positively contribute to climate change challenge. Given that the Internet is a natural environment for the younger generations where they communicate with their peers and explore their identities, the partners believed it was crucial to take action on the Internet and to equip the youngsters with the necessary tools, so they could act further to spread the climate action message across their network.
