By defining priority areas, improving work with potentially gifted students, we created a tree of problems and goals. With this, we reached the general goal of our project: a high-quality school that respects and nurtures diversity with an international reputation. In order to contribute to the achievement of our general goal, we have defined five specific goals. 1. through education in the field of informal and innovative methods, empower teachers and professional associates for systematic work with gifted students. 2. continuation of the program for gifted Galović Sveznadar in subject classes. 3. apply an inclusive approach through systematic work, taking into account the psycho-emotional specificities of gifted students. 4. develop partnership relations with parents of gifted students. 5. establish cooperation with the local community and the business sector.
The project analysis, which included the SVOT analysis of the target groups, established the key need of our school - the improvement of systematic work with potentially gifted students. Due to insufficient knowledge of work methodology, teachers and professional associates need education that includes: integration of formal, informal and innovative methods in order to empower them for systematic, complete, individualized and differentiated work with gifted students. There is a need to continue the program for the gifted in higher grades and for greater cooperation between class and subject teachers. Teachers expressed the need for education in the field of psycho-emotional empowerment and development of social skills in order to be able to provide support to gifted students in view of the large number of unacceptable behaviors. One of the key needs is the realization of cooperation with the parents of gifted students as well as the local community and the business sector. With the European development plan, we have defined the areas that need to be improved with an emphasis on creating an international network of partners for the application of new Erasmus KA1 and KA2 and greater implementation of eTwinning in our school.
