Objectives

With this project, High School Donji Miholjac wanted to enable its employees to improve their self-confidence and skills in using ICT tools to improve their daily teaching practice and thus enable students to advance and learn in a new, stimulating environment. We wanted our teachers to become more confident in selecting and using ICT tools, and including new teaching methods in the subject curricula of foreign languages and economic and civic education. The aim was student-centered teaching and learning. We also wanted the methods and tools to be in line with the needs of each student, especially students who are in a group of different educational difficulties so that all students have equal opportunities to achieve better educational results. We wanted to contribute to the 4th (quality education) and 10th (reducing inequalities) SDGs, thus providing better education to current and future students, and reducing inequality among students. The school wanted to internationalise and thus open up new opportunities for cooperation with schools and other stakeholders across Europe. By implementing this project, the School wanted to encourage teachers and students to participate in international projects.

Background

By analyzing the data obtained by conducting the survey, the self-evaluation team found that teachers wanted to participate in quality educations that would enable them to acquire new knowledge necessary for everyday work in the classroom. The school wanted to enable its employees continuous personal and professional growth, and to provide them with opportunities to learn through participation in the Erasmus+ project with the aim of including new knowledge and skills in their subject curricula and in the School curriculum, thus improving their daily practice, enriching their CVs with new skills but also increasing their personal job satisfaction. In order to enable all our students to develop 21st century skills, it was necessary for our teachers to acquire new knowledge in the use of ICT tools, and new methods and technologies that will be used in the daily practice in our classrooms..By applying the new methods, all our students will be placed at the center of the educational process. The school is attended by a significant number of students who, due to difficulties in mastering educational content, blindness and visual impairment, dyslexia, ADHD, and social and emotional burden, need differentiated materials.
