After a detailed analysis of the needs of our School and defining the European Development Plan with this project, we decided to focus on three specific goals: improving key competencies and skills of the staff, raising the quality of teaching by introducing new methods and approaches, and internationalizing the school. The first skill we wanted to strengthen with this project is that of management, which is the basis for strengthening collaborative work in the collective, introducing new ideas and involving as many teaching staff as possible in international projects. Then there is the strengthening of language and ICT competences. With them, we wanted to increase the level of self-confidence of teachers, the quality of teaching, participation in eTwinning projects and Erasmus+ projects. We wanted to train the collective to exploit the potential of the technologically well-equipped School and to use ICT tools for the purpose of teaching, learning and testing knowledge in different subjects. By raising the entrepreneurial competencies of students, our goal was to increase their level of self-confidence and acquire useful professional skills for the future. We also wanted to increase the internationalization of the School and achieve international cooperation with various educational institutions from European countries.
S.T.A.R.T. - The "Successful Teachers - Achievement Ready Teachers" project is designed to train teachers of the Sračinec Elementary School with the aim of achieving its mission. The mission was defined during the writing of the European Development Plan, in which we identified the areas in which our school lags behind recent European developments in terms of education and preparation of students for real life. In designing a mosaic of targeted thematic training in the form of mobility, we saw an opportunity to improve the skills of seven selected teachers precisely in the areas where the need for growth was identified. In the accompanying activities and the distribution of the project results, we saw an opportunity to spread the acquired knowledge to the rest of the collective, the students of our School and the professional community in order to provide high-quality, modern, creative and interactive teaching that would direct our students towards the European dimension, the adoption of the values of the European Union and provide knowledge and skills that are necessary for life and competitiveness on the labor market in the 21st century. We consider participation in this project a "springboard" or, as the name suggests, the beginning of the continuous involvement of the collective in further international cooperation and improvement.
