The project implementation has ensured that the long-term goals the institution has previously set, are completed and achieved through education of vocational teaching staff and expansion of vocational knowledge and skills of vocational students along with their language skills. Apart from that, the project implementation was oriented towards completion of primary goals specified by the European Development Plan composed by the institution itself. These refer to improving the existing knowledge and competencies of vocational teachers and students, more specifically technicians of electronics and catering industry students. The project focuses on enabling the students to do their practice in quality, foreign, well-equipped objects while at the same time being taught and monitored by foreign mentors, whereas teachers have the opportunity to further professionally develop their vocational skills and competencies with regard to topics not available in their surroundings. The assigned project team wanted to improve their managerial and organizational skills and enrich them by applying the ECVET system for the first time. The project also encourages others to recognize the importance of professional development and life-long learning concept by motivating the teaching staff and the students to actively participate in future projects with the aim of improving the institution`s educational and organizational capacities.
According to the European Development Plan three primary goals have been formed by Secondary school Isidor Kršnjavi in Našice – gaining new knowledge and developing new skills and enhancing the existing competencies of both students and teachers. The planned and implemented project activities correspond with the set goals which is one of the reasons for its implementation. In addition, the long-term goals set by the applying institution are partially oriented towards the students and their growth and development in terms of knowledge and learning outcomes, whereas the other part is focused on the teaching staff and their professional and vocational development. Furthermore, long-terms goals also include developing the ability to accept and understand foreign cultures while improving the language skills. Another reason for applying the project is precisely the fact that it enables faster and more efficient realization of the goals set in the European Development Plan. Along with extensive experience of participation in different projects, including four Erasmus+ KA1 projects focusing on mobilities of vocational students, mainly technicians of electronics and catering students, this projects was envisioned as a continuation of professional development and empowering of the two vocations. Since vocational students still experience issues when searching for suitable and well-equipped objects for their school practice, the project proposal provides a perfect opportunity for them to experience working abroad. Professional development is crucial when it comes to quality teaching. One of the institution`s priorities is therefore education of the vocational teaching staff, also included as one of the project activities. Furthermore, one of the most important incentives for project application is the fact that the planned mobilities imply the development of language skills both with students and teachers which has proved to be one of the most efficient ways of acquiring a language since it refers to direct communication in everyday situations. Moreover, the school`s project team has decided to enrich their existing experience of project management with one more challenging project including the ECVET system, which is the first time this system has been incorporated in the project proposal.
