Objectives

By implementing the project, the students improved their personal and social skills, learned how to behave in a team, and improved their coping skills in new and unfamiliar situations. All this is useful in everyday life, but also in the labor market. Also, they had the opportunity to get to know a new country, culture, people and customs. Thanks to participation in mobility, students developed life skills and gained experience in specific areas through formal and informal learning. By implementing the project, teachers had the opportunity to learn based on experience, to exchange knowledge with colleagues from another country. The project encouraged the personal and professional development of teachers, improved their organizational skills and increased their self-confidence. The project was focused on the challenges faced by workers in the hospitality professions: adaptation to the new organization of work in a new hospitality facility, familiarization with new inventory and equipment. With the project, we wanted to promote and strengthen the competencies of professional occupations in the tourism and hospitality sector and encourage positive changes by motivating students and school teachers to participate in mobility.

Background

We signed up for the project with the desire to encourage students to discover the beauty of their profession - chefs, waiters, pastry chefs and receptionists are equally valuable and in demand in every hotel or restaurant, regardless of the country in which it is located. By changing the location of practical classes, students had to adapt to new ways and methods of working in a business environment. On this way, the students got the opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge and adopt new ones that will help them in their further education, but also in increasing competitiveness on the labor market. Signing up for this project enabled teachers to exchange experiences, gain new ones and implement them in the teaching process. Through the professional development of the teaching staff, we wanted to increase the content and teaching methods appropriate to the needs of the students in the project is an excellent example of lifelong learning with the aim of improving knowledge, skills and competences, with great emphasis on experiential learning. One of the goals of applying for the project was to strengthen democratic culture, civic awareness and establish cooperation between educational institutions.
