Our goal was to enhance our capacity to train staff and volunteers to educate end-users (future parents, pregnant women, and parents), and to infuse new knowledge and skills into our training and activities. In today's instant-information era, impressing end-users with knowledge and skills is challenging, so our activities need continuous improvement. To achieve this, we needed to boost the capabilities of our staff and volunteers, giving them the chance to attend innovative adult education programs beyond Croatia’s borders. These experiences could then be shared with other volunteers and end-users in our programs, including reproductive health, breastfeeding, parenting, and digital parenting. The aim was to enhance and offer more impactful, knowledgeable, and skillful training for both organisation members and consequently end-users.
Roda is one of the largest NGOs in Croatia and the largest one in four program areas: reproductive health and rights, breastfeeding promotion and protection, responsible parenting, and legal advocacy to protect and improve children's and parents' rights. Our organisation is highly visible to the general public and recognized as the information and education point for our end-users: future parents, pregnant women, and parents. Therefore, constant improvement and upgrading of our knowledge and skills are necessary to remain relevant and provide high-quality activities and education for our end-users. Additionally, our organisation has a strong network with different stakeholders both in Croatia and in the EU, prompting us to seek to increase our staff and volunteer capacities. We strive to enhance our services and introduce innovative programs to our end-users. With past partnerships and plans for future collaborations, we applied for this project to advance further these objectives.
