"Active Youth for Active Society" is a project of youth exchange from Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project involves young people aged 15-25. It should be noted that young people with fewer opportunities are involved, which applies to young people from alternative care, but also to young people with disabilities and young people with behavioral disorders, but also to young people with previous active involvement in social initiatives. Young people, and especially young people leaving the alternative care system, young people with disabilities and young people with behavioral disorders are pushed to the edge of society and are at risk of social exclusion. They do not have access to power bodies and decision-making processes, so they often feel helpless because they feel they cannot take control of decisions that affect their lives. Young people have noted that society often has markedly negative attitudes towards people who are, in some ways, different in character from certain characteristics. They are often surrounded by sensationalist headlines that convey unrealistic stories or portray, in a stereotypical way, certain groups of society at risk of social exclusion. During the youth exchange in Novi Vinodolski, the participants jointly carry out a previously designed and prepared work program (exercises, discussions, discussions, role-playing, etc.) Exchanges with the help and support of the facilitator. Through the project, we want to promote the active engagement of young people with regard to social inclusion of socially excluded social groups. The specific goals of this project are to realize their own capacities, to strengthen self-esteem and self-esteem, awareness and sensitization of young people about prejudices and stereotypes faced by socially excluded groups, raising awareness of the role of the media in society, developing new and improving existing skills with the aim of providing assistance and self-help, informing and promoting volunteer engagement. The project aims to provide opportunities for young people and young people with fewer opportunities to find their own strengths, improve existing and gain new knowledge and become active members of the community. We want to inform young people about the opportunities that exist in society with the aim of encouraging volunteer engagement in various local, national, regional and European organizations. Through project activities, we educate young people about the benefits of youth initiatives, promoting active youth participation and promoting mobility, non-formal learning and intercultural learning. Through training in acting in high-risk situations, we want to empower them to help themselves, but also to learn how to help others in high-risk situations. By selecting partner organizations, we place emphasis on the international dimension and explore how they implement programs with young people and programs related to reducing social exclusion and inclusion of socially excluded groups of society. The content, theme and objectives of the project are in line with the objectives of the Erasmus + program as it includes marginalized young people, young people with fewer opportunities, and seeks to enhance the quality of work with young people and non-formal learning for young people in Europe. Three countries - Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina - participate in the "Active Youth for Active Society" project with organizations focused on their youth activities. The project seeks to encourage co-operation and exchange of young people across Europe to enable them to learn about the different cultures, traditions and customs of their peers, and thereby encourage the development of tolerance. Through project activities, we will demonstrate the benefits of collaborating with other youth organizations, encourage all participants to further collaborate for the purpose of sensitization and encourage positive change in society, both locally and regionally.
