The project consortium has identified the topics of gender theory and gender-based violence as key issues for youth today in the communities involved in this proposal. The Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention and Combat of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, known as the Istanbul Convention, polarizes the public in several countries involved in the project, and many far-right organizations affiliated with church circles accuse it of spreading the so-called "gender ideology" . Using social media and the Internet in general, this attitude is spreading among young people (as the biggest users of new media), which creates confusion for them because they are not able to critically evaluate the conflicting information provided to them. On the other hand, gender theory is not sufficiently addressed in formal education programs, and non-binary young people face the problem of misunderstanding by their peers, social exclusion and sometimes (gender-based) verbal / physical violence. By implementing the training course "Genderology - Gender Equality for an Equal Society", we strive to unravel gender-related myths while addressing the issues of gender-based violence and gender discrimination. The training is designed to provide a wide range of competencies needed to understand gender theory and to address gender based violence appropriately. Participants will be able to explore a variety of topics in a safe and supportive environment, with an emphasis on gender theory, gender based violence, gender discrimination, human rights and inclusion. The specific objectives of the training are: - increase participants' knowledge of gender theory and gender-based violence, improve their skills in the field of intercultural learning and human rights; - raise awareness of gender issues and prepare participants to cope with these issues in their societies; - promote an inclusive approach and contribute to preventing radicalization among young people; - strengthen the capacities of youth workers and partner organizations on gender equality to be able to carry out such activities in their communities; - promote Erasmus + program and non-formal learning as a tool for combating negative social phenomena. This project addresses directly the following E + objectives: -equipping youth workers with competences and methods needed for transferring the common fundamental values of our society and preventing violent radicalization of young people as well; the promotion of European values in accordance with Article 2 of the Treaty on the European Union; to promote intercultural dialogue and solidarity, in particular through increased learning mobility opportunities for those active in youth work.
