By implementing the project we wanted to advance the competences of youth workers in the field of human rights and human rights education. Also, we wanted to offer youth workers and youth leaders space to reflect, exchange and share knowledge and experience in the topic of human rights education within youthwork framework. The main purpose was to encourage participants to reflect about human rights issues and how to use human rights education in their everyday work. The main objectives of “HERO2” were to raise the awareness, respect and application of human rights values through the transmission of ideas of peace, solidarity and tolerance in youth work; to increase the competences of youth workers needed to plan, implement and critically evaluate the impact of one’s own actions for the realization of human rights education; to support the reassess of values in HRE through cooperative learning of theories and pragmatic approach applicable to every society. Specific objectives were to provide youth workers with know-how tools and resources essential for supporting them in the process of critical reflection on values we promote; to identify and recognize key stakeholders in the field of human rights and human rights education; to recognize the risks and threats linked to human rights values and develop strategies to minimize these.
