As an institution open to international cooperation, one of our school’s most important goals was mutual learning and sharing of good practices. For this, language teachers’ methodological development, their language renewal, and expansion of their cultural knowledge is necessary. The development of non-language teachers’ language competence is a condition for the effectiveness of content-based education and the use of foreign resources in the classroom. Language acquisition in linguistic environment results not only in professional development but also broadening of our international relations and thus the profile of our institution. The basic ICT skills of the participants were developed in previous trainings, in this application we aimed to acquire special skills. With these, we wanted to achieve experiential education and, as a result, to avoid early school leaving, which effectively increases students' motivation and develops their personality. One of our goals was to develop students' social skills which is essential for their successful careers in the future. For the personalized development of disadvantaged students, we looked for useful ideas in differentiation.
Our main goal with the project was to enable our school's innovative staff members participating in several Erasmus+ applications to keep up with the new challenges of the 21st century. In order to improve the quality of our education, we wanted to acquire modern learning techniques that can be used to train our teachers and our students as well. We not only consider the development of our ICT competencies and the modernization of our already high-level foreign language education important, but the personal development of our students and the management of their further education as well. We were looking for courses to learn these, and we were also interested in integrating creativity and innovation into the classroom, competency-based education, effective conflict management, developing emotional intelligence, and preventing bullying. We aimed to expand our collection of good practices which are available for all our teachers to reach experiential and effective education. We wanted to acquire practical knowledge, as well as to gain insight into the teaching and education process, we planned to achieve it with job shadowing activity.
