Our ultimate goal is to be part of a professional community, which is open to innovation and continuous renewal and to not only be aware of the trends in education in our home country, but also of the most effective and modern methods used in Europe. We are hoping to apply these methods and adapt them to the conditions in our school and our students’ needs, as well. The most important would be to introduce experiential and activity-based teaching methods and to develop our language teaching methodology. Our objective is for our students to develop the basic competences that will help them to find their place in the labour market of the future, and to be able to organise and prioritise the knowledge they acquire. In addition to broadening the horizons of our colleagues, it is important that our students also look at the world around them in a European context, so that they can express themselves and their national identity and patriotism in a foreign language environment. It is our ongoing objective to improve the quality of foreign language teaching to ensure linguistic development, intercultural experiences and professional renewal for the participating students and teachers through the development of the school's professional and social network and cooperation in Hungary and Europe.
Our school is committed to promoting a paradigm shift in the Hungarian education system within the framework of public education. Therefore, it is essential that we have an adequate overview of the education systems of European countries, the methodology applied there, which is more appropriate to the needs of the labour market and which also serves and motivates the needs of Generation Z. Broadening the horizons of our teachers can help us to ensure that the extra work involved in innovation is not experienced as a burden or a nuisance, but as an investment that pays off in the long term. Erasmus is not only one of the main tools for professional innovation, but also one of the most effective ways of combatting burn-out, one of the biggest problems in the field of education in our country. Our aim is to involve an ever wider range of teachers in the applications and collaborations, as all applications are written and evaluated jointly. All this helps our colleagues accept and internalize the goals and expectations we set ourselves. As a bilingual school, we prefer content-based teaching, so the aim of the application was to expand the methodological tools of teaching, to adopt and introduce good practices.
