Objectives

The aim and result was to improve the school's overall pedagogical and organisational development. Specifically, the aim was to increase methodological skills, to share learning and to strengthen the foreign language competence of staff. We aim to strengthen the role of English as a mediating language in education, to make colleagues more capable of doing this beyond the language classroom and language teachers. Besides these, other aims were to further develop the Öveges Student Lab, to introduce new knowledge and lab exercises, to strengthen and enhance the international relations of the student lab, and to strengthen the networking. In addition, the aim was to strengthen the teaching profession and motivation of the staff involved. A specific objective of the project was to involve our primary school and its staff in the activities, thus supporting language teaching in the primary school.

Background

Internationalisation is one if the main strategic goals of Kecskemét Piarist School. There are three reasons and three objectives: to enable our students to acquire "international competences", to enhance the effectiveness of the learning process through internationalization, and to support the operation and development of the institution through the resources and knowledge resulting from internationalization. In the present application, we mainly identified the training of staff as an opportunity to improve their professional work, to develop the school organisation through experience and to increase staff motivation. The professional areas were mainly language teaching, methodological enrichment and the development of the student laboratory. Besides all these, internationalisation and networking also played a role in the writing of the application.
