Among our goals, the prevention of early school leaving and the use of direct and indirect methods for prevention have been given high priority. We have chosen several courses for this purpose, including one that specifically serves this purpose (mindfulness) and one that makes students more motivated and thus prevents school leaving by expanding teaching methods. Our goal was to expand the methodological repertoire. In practically every course, we were able to learn new methods, especially in the field of digitalization. Education for a healthy lifestyle and raising environmental awareness were also among our goals, and our colleagues completed two courses to improve mental health. Progress has been made in the field of internationalization of the school, which we have been continuously monitoring since 2019 and making it a task for all course visitors.
We formulated our European Development Plan for the first time in 2018, and with this project we wanted to achieve the objectives set out in it at a high level. First of all, we wanted to build foreign relationships, thereby providing opportunities for gaining a wide range of international experience in order to motivate colleagues and students to exchange experiences abroad, to study abroad, renew methodology, expand language capacity, preserve the democratic school atmosphere and prevent early school leaving. We considered our first application in 2019 to be very successful, so we wanted to expand the circle of participants by involving new teachers. Despite the pandemic, we managed to keep up with the changes and take full advantage of the opportunities and fully realize our goals.
