Objectives

In our project "In the Green Wave", we set three main objectives, taking into account the specificities, real needs and development needs of the institution. 1. Health and well-being: aspects of physical, mental and spiritual health; a healthy and safe school environment; fostering an attitude of empathy and acceptance in teachers and students alike.   2. Quality education: enhancing cultural knowledge of the target language, teaching and learning in a creative way, learning about Europe's cultural heritage. In language teaching, we consider it of the utmost importance that students not only learn the foreign language, but also acquire as much knowledge as possible about the everyday life, culture and traditions of the people concerned. 3.Environmental protection: to develop students' environmental awareness: to communicate information through as many channels as possible, to approach the topic with interest, positive attitude and responsibility. We aim to create a sustainable school environment. Our colleagues have improved their knowledge in the above three areas, and the job shadowing mobility has also focused on these observation aspects.

Background

In our project, we looked for areas for improvement that involve the whole teaching staff and are a preferred objective of the institution's pedagogical programme. We wanted to find out how quality education for the 21st century is being implemented abroad. A school needs to have a sustainability strategy and to keep aspects of this in mind in its operations. It is essential that all teachers be familiar with measures related to environmental awareness and the social and economic aspects of sustainability. In the case of the subject taught, we wanted to target the acquisition of life skills which are also listed in the National Curriculum as priority competences to be developed: critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity. Our aim is to improve the quality of our work by gaining new knowledge through international trainings and professional visits, by adopting good practices and by using modern methods.
