Objectives

During the implementation of the project, our goals were the following: the development of managerial competencies, methodological renewal, the fight against burnout and the development of the foreign language skills of teachers teaching vocational subjects. We use many new methods: the use of ICT tools, group work, differentiated education, project methods to rise the interest of our students. Colleagues take part in numerous training courses at home, and pass on what they have learned there in the form of workshops and discussions. In addition to these, we felt the need to see how they do it abroad, what methods are used to rise students' interest and prevent burnout. How do they achieve success? How is dual training organized? How are the changes in vocational training solved? We felt the need to discuss and adopt the experiences and already proven strategies. In our previous tenders only colleagues, teaching general knowledge subjects, took part. Now, however, we tried to involve the teachers of professional subjects in the project, so that they could improve their foreign language skills and actively participate in our international relations.

Background

Our institution's mission is to teach young people who, with up-to-date knowledge, can take their place in our changing world. The task of the teaching staff is to thoroughly and conscientiously prepare them for the graduation and professional exams in accordance with the spirit of today. In order to successfully fulfill all of these, our faculty needs their serious professional knowledge, modern methodological preparation, renewal, creativity, conflict management, and language skills. For its development, it is important for the school to be managed by leaders who are able to react carefully and quickly to the changes taking place in vocational education. We have a VET Accreditation, within the framework of which our students participate in a six-week professional internship abroad. We are planning for a longer term and would like the colleagues teaching the given profession to be actively involved in the supervision of our students and in maintaining contact with foreign partners. Moreover, today's innovations are published in foreign professional journals and online platforms, mostly in English. Professional software can also be used in a foreign language. Thus, professional teachers also need to develop their language competence.
