As a small school in the immediate vicinity of Eger, the biggest challenge for us is to maintain the number of students. Our operation is endangered by the proximity and exhausting effects of the city. It's important for us to provide more than the urban schools: with quality education, inclusive atmosphere and exploiting the potential of music learning. The lack of foreign language skills of the staff is also a big disadvantage for us. More than 50%of colleagues do not speak a foreign language. Language knowledge is an essential condition of professional development as well as the quality improvement of the institution. Our aim is to extend our international connections and build new partnerships in the future involving more colleagues with appropriate language skills and experience in the project activities. Therefore, we have designed a five-year strategy,(2020-25) in which we formulated three goals that help our institution stay sustainable in the long run: The extension of inclusion and integration pedagogy, To strengthen the internationalization process, and improve the foreign language skills of the teachers. Creating an experience -based learning environment. The activities we have carried out in the project not only could help to get closer these strategic goals but also met the professional needs of the participants in the mobility.
The leadership of the Felsőtárkány Primary School and Elementary Music School is guided by the need for continuous renewal. In order to determine the strategic goals of the institution, the school management had carried out a thorough needs analysis involving the teachers’ staff in June 2019. By evaluating the results, we found that quality development measures supporting modern education are needed. We would like to be an open, modern and attractive institution capable of keeping and even increasing the number of students through a set of guidelines and the activities implemented.
