We have planned diverse, positive changes related to our development areas: Digital school: continue the process that had been going on since 2018 (broadband, fast internet, wifi network modernization, acquisition of interactive whiteboards, use of mobile devices in teaching), create interactive classrooms and a 3D workshop. Using Microsoft Teams as a learning environment, we have planned to turn into a digital school, expanding by one grade per year. (Due to the pandemic, this ended up happening overnight.) Eco school: gain support for our sustainability plans, both in terms of our specific school operations (energy-saving lighting and heating, waste reduction and selective collection, creation of collection points, garden, edu path, outdoor classroom, composting, boxed vegetable plots), and in our educational approach. A school prepared for the challenges of the future: preserve our successful school enrollment and further education indicators while introducing technical school training. Our aspiration was to become a school that provides an inspiring positive learning experience in all its elements, to strengthen the inclusive and supportive positive school atmosphere.
Our school has been actively participating in Erasmus+ mobility projects since 2015. The success and effectiveness of the projects is mostly tangible through the changing mindset and attitudes of our colleagues with which they tackle the various challenges 21 century education presents. We regularly experiment with methods for solving 21st century pedagogical and other challenges, there is a dedicated sharing of knowledge within the faculty, and innovative solutions that can be successfully adapted to the specifics of our school are incorporated into the educational work. However, not all colleagues were equally proactive when it came to all these challenges. The current project was launched to encourage and support those who were more reluctant to change their old ways in teaching as well as furter foster those who are eager to change the school to fit 21st century expectations. In February 2020 (just a couple of weeks prior to the Covid pandemics) we were searching for support and inspiration in three main fields of development: 1. Digital school 2. Eco school and sustainability 3. Resilience in future challenges
