As the subject of the workshop exercises, we mainly chose topics that are not or only tangentially discussed construction vocational training in Hungary, i.e. we implemented workshop training of wooden staircase construction and concrete structure construction. This last topic became relevant due to the inclusion of "Structural construction and installation" among the Basic Professions in Hungarian. Our primary goal was to strengthen the practical competencies of the participants and ensure the acquisition of new competencies. Furthermore, we wanted to introduce them good practices that promote the development of trainees’ practical competences. During their study tour, the vocational training experts were able to learn about the Austrian, German and French dual construction industry training system, and the institutional system and methodology of off-site practical training, which is an important part of the training. In addition, well-proven foreign solutions for popularizing construction trades and orienting young people were studied. With the long-term mobility project of the graduating trainees in France, we have provided professional further training opportunities for talented, motivated and dedicated youngsters.
We intend to provide further training opportunities for three main target groups. We have implemented practical trainings for construction industry VET teachers and trainers in Germany and Austria, study trips for vocational training experts in Austria, in Germany and in France, and long-term mobility for graduate apprentices in France. These projects were only possible with the professional support of our foreign partners and the financial support of the Erasmus project. In Hungary the necessary material and personal conditions, the well-equipped workshops, the tools and construction materials, and highly qualified trainers are not available for such trainer and trainee training programs. Compagnon's adult further training system also includes theoretical and practical training in the evenings and on Saturdays after the daily work, and this would also not be possible for the youngsters in Hungary. Vocational training experts, including members of the construction sector skills council, were able to study the Austrian, German, and French construction industry vocational training system and to gather experience as a result of the study tour.
