Objectives

The Erasmus programme at the school provides an excellent opportunity for our students to undertake work placements abroad, as part of the portfolio required by the final examination of the VET 4.0 strategy. The only opportunity currently available is to participate in Erasmus mobility projects. We have a number of excellent international partnerships with whom we have implemented several joint ERASMUS programmes in the past. We would like to further strengthen these links and have again planned to organise work placements with them for our students in a number of different professions. In addition to developing the professional and linguistic competences of the participating students, our aim is to familiarise our students with the culture and work ethics of foreign countries, to exchange experiences and to build further international contacts. For our students, work experience in a real work environment is very important, and this is strongly supported by the project. This will make them more open to working at European level in the future. It can help them in their future job search, which they can prove with a Europass Mobility document.

Background

By implementing our mobility project, we want to contribute to the development and quality of education and training at European level, and to the creation of opportunities and cooperation. Our aim is to support learners' competences in order to facilitate their personal development, their employability and their access to the European labour market. A further objective is to strengthen the international knowledge of students, for which this mobility competition has provided a significant basis by implementing a placement abroad. The work experience abroad has an impact on their development within the school up to their future employment. One of the basic principles of VET 4.0 is to ensure the conditions for dual training and to run it efficiently. Internships are part of and a requirement for the professional development of technical and vocational school students. The placements are good examples of how schools and the competitive sector can work together effectively. Mobility is also a good learning opportunity for trainers, as they gain insights into a system that is already in place and can be used at home. Students can learn about a new culture and technology during their work experience, which they can incorporate into their portfolio.
