Objectives

We wanted to achive several goals by implementing the project. We believe that the Erasmus+ program can contribute to the promotion of our instituion, to the improvement of enrollment indicators, and we also want it to strenghtem our position among county and regional vocational training institutions. On the other hand, our goal was to provide our students with tangible, practical knowledge that can be used in many ways, which includes the development of their language competences, practice-oriented professional development and last but not least the strengthening of their European civic awareness during their stay abroad.

Background

In 2018, the Mátészalkai SZC Budai Antal Nagy Technikum és Szakgimnázium applied for the Erasmus+ mobility program for the first time, within the framework of which 8 students studying in the tourism sector and an accompanying teacher could participate in a 3 week intership in Prague. The program promised to be succesful, so there was no question that we would try again next year. Our second application also won, as a result of which 15 students studying in the field of pedagogy and 2 accompanying teachers spent 3 weeks in Košice, where the students spent their professional practice in English and Hungarian language educational institutions. Since this sector has also successfully overcome the obstacles and we have gained good experience, we submitted our application in 2020 as well. We wanted to get to know new places, gain new experiences, and broaden our horizons, so we choose Poland as our next destination, where many people speak English well, and we have applied for interships in 3 sectors. In addition to pedagogy and tourism, economics students were also involved, which is also of great importance because they don’t participate in professional practice during their studies.
