Objectives

Our goal is to get to know new technologies and methods in the field of hospitality vocational training, including event organization, and to promote labour market integration for our students in Hungary and abroad. In addition, eco-conscious hospitality and sustainability are in focus. We intended to deepen our knowledge of the organisation of complex events, share the tasks between the production and the service area, facilitate direct, effective communication between the parties with focusing on the WWF menu and of the LOCAVORE idea. VET mobilities give our students and teachers the chance to participate in more modern and harmonised education and training abroad. We wanted to examine the popular standards abroad in the field of event management and the efficient new practices in production (list of tools, disposition) and service (decoration, giving advice). We wanted to give oportunity to the participants to gain work experience, to exchange non-formal and informal knowledge,to develop foreign language, social, cultural and transversal competencies. Also we intended to facilitate our teachers to communicate more efficiently and use of digital tools in several ways.

Background

We applied because this international cooperation greatly facilitates the continuous professional renewal of our institution, the adoption of new technologies and methods, and provides an opportunity to gain work experience abroad. Building on and widening our previous programmes, this time we aimed to harmonize the hospitality professions in the organization of complex events, where we wanted to adopt effective standards and built them into our everyday education. During the Food-Tour, we wanted to develop our professional knowledge, foreign language, intercultural, digital and transferable competencies in our partner schools and various catering establishments, focusing on sustainability. We intend to develop the organization and the comprehensive implementation of catering events, which is part of our pedagogical programme. We do it by aquiring good practices of practical and theoretical work at foreign partners and share it with others by dissamination. The program provides an opportunity for teachers and students to acquire the newest knowledge-based practices, with the help of which we can provide competitive vocational training that meets the needs of the labour market and achieve closer cooperation with economic spheres.
