Objectives

The primary objective was for the students to develop their existing professional skills and knowledge, and to learn new practices and techniques. To gain real international work experience and to stimulate or deepen their desire to learn. In addition, the traineeship was also intended to improve the participants' English communication skills, as they could only speak a foreign language at their workplace. The aim was also to help students who had been away from home for a long period of time to get used to greater independence, both at work and in dealing with and solving everyday problems. Improve their problem-solving skills and self-awareness It was also important to broaden the students' cultural knowledge and to familiarise them with a different environment, mentality and attitude. We wanted to develop a long-term international partnership for our school The aim was to raise the quality of education in our school. To give the accompanying teachers experience of the practical processes of professional work and training at the European level and demanding standards of the host partner. Last but not least, the mobility was also expected to have a positive impact on the attitude of the pupils, making them more open and accepting.

Background

Our school aims to lay the foundations for lifelong learning. To this end, we pay particular attention to the development of social and communication skills, as well as to the teaching of learning. In terms of personal development, our school places particular emphasis on developing self-awareness, initiative and entrepreneurship, and responsible social behaviour. Maintaining students' motivation to learn is a fundamental pedagogical objective: we provide a high level of professional theoretical and practical knowledge, adapted to the requirements of the times, and train open-minded, broad-minded professionals. Our aim is to ensure that our pupils of different abilities and from different social backgrounds are fully educated together. In addition to professional, theoretical knowledge, it is very important that students gain practical experience. It is an added advantage if this practice takes place in an international environment, because it allows students to practise a foreign language alongside their profession, to get to know another culture, working environment and mentality, and this can have an impact on their future life. This is why we thought of submitting our application for the Erasmus+ project. Our school was able to participate in this project for the first time following a successful application. The aim of the project was to give young people studying hospitality and tourism at the school the opportunity to develop their skills in a foreign language environment and to use the knowledge they have acquired in the labour market.
