We have carried out interviews, needs assessments, and strategic reviews of our work. This process has led us to identify four key goals related to our educational work: GOAL 1. ‘Upskill trainers with knowledge and skills to dynamize and increase the impact of community education’. GOAL 2. ‘Modelling sustainability for experiential learning’. GOAL 3. ‘Improving the impact, relevance and quality of our educational programmes through more effective strategic analysis and clearer competency and learning frameworks’. GOAL 4. ‘Increase the international reach of our education work at a European level AND Build new relationships with education organisations supporting European active citizenship’.
The Civil College Foundation (CKA) is a Hungarian organization dedicated to adult education in the fields of community development, community work, and citizen studies. Over the past 20 years, CKA has emerged as a leading organization in civil society development in Hungary, forging strong connections and networks with hundreds of civil society organizations and local communities. At CKA, we are highly motivated to provide community-based education across Hungary, ensuring that our work extends to various regions and reaches marginalized and disadvantaged social groups. Over the past decade, we have witnessed our efforts transforming the lives of thousands of individuals and their communities. This work holds particular significance in Hungary, as the participation rate for adult learning in three out of the seven regions falls within the lowest bracket in Europe, with less than 5.0%. Recognizing the need for continuous improvement and growth as an adult education organization, we acknowledge the importance of investing in the skills of our educational staff. Additionally, we are committed to expanding and updating our curriculum, enhancing the impact and reach of our educational centers, and broadening our educational networks.
