This project addressed a common need identified in a previous Youth Exchange, during which we noticed the misunderstanding between national groups, which came from differences in the characteristic of their language. These types of misapprehensions are rooted in the low level of intercultural awareness, understanding and tolerance but also highly by countries and cultures youth grew up and their mother tongue. Most of the participants came from enclosed and monocultural communities full of stereotypes and biased judgments towards different people. By discovering the differences through and because of our native languages, the participants significantly increased their cultural awareness and understanding as well as tolerance, because it is easier to tolerate things that you understand and do not have to be afraid of. The main objectives that we reached were the following: 60 participants from 5 countries increased their understanding of how cultures are different and why people think differently due to their native languages. The project fostered the exchange of experiences and the native language aspects which influence the way people think and may cause cultural misunderstandings. The third objective was to raise cultural awareness and understanding about 5 participating countries for 60 participants by enriching themselves through differences in the native languages.
